Forgot the lads were actually playing tonight and just flicked up flashscore and voila 0-3. And we had a straight red. The ability to dispatch lower ranked teams this season is pretty pleasing. Ok, against the better teams it's more of a game but the team is just solid as all hell when playing inferior opposition. Well done lads. In with a strong shout of a play off place at this rate and still got a couple of games in hand.

Apart from Dulwich (assuming 'ricay wins the title) who are guaranteed a play off spot more or less, the other 3 spots will be hotly contested. The Greens will definitely be in with a shout of grabbing one of them. Next 3 games with Brightlingsea, Harrow and Harlow all look winnable and we should be aiming for 6-7 pts from the 9 if all 9 is asking for too much. Harrow away will be tough and they'll be looking for some sort of revenge for the 6-0. Harlow ain't exactly pulling trees up this year but they're tough at home I guess but no one holds any fear for the lads anymore.

The only issue is keeping the side fresh as there are just so many games coming thick and fast. The gaffer needs to give a couple of the lads a rest over the coming games and play a couple of the fringe guys. Keegan Cole needs to play from the start IMO as he's been sub quite a bit lately. Niko amazes me though as he plays literally every game and never gets even a hint of a rest. The gaffer needs to hold on to him in the transfer window like his life depends on him. The guy is seriously something else and almost unplayable at this level for opposition defences. He's good enough for National league or even League 2 easy. If we lose that guy our play off hopes will be toast. Anyway enough rambling from me. Enjoy the 3-0 win tonight and hopefully a fruitful xmas period lads.

Dorking Last Night

A fairly comfortable win as the scoreline suggests. It was pretty scrappy in places but we were very slick and clinical when it counted.

The ref never really got on top of a fair amount of niggle/whining (both teams) and it was tetchy all the way through. Gary wisely took Casey off at HT because he was on a yellow (for a rugby tackle) and looked likely to get another. The red card incident was at the other end and I wouldn't know what it was all about apart from alleged violent conduct.

Tom wasn't really called on to make a save of note and for the most part we kept Dorking out of our penalty area. The defence looked good last night and was well shielded by the midfield.

I'm pretty sure Nico doesn't want to rest because he's in the form of his life and his goals/performances are attracting scouts from all over. I fully expect him to leave in January but hope we manage to secure the sort of fee for him that makes a difference to our well-being. If a good offer comes through, there's no way we ought to stand in his way, although he would obviously be a massive loss to the team.

The way Zak Joseph is playing, I wouldn't be surprised if we get offers for him too. He set up two of the goals last night with his driving runs into the box (lovely deft cross for Corcoran and a fantastic low driven effort for the own goal). His goal tally of 12 is excellent for a winger (and It's only December). Plus he can also cross and attack from either wing....which was what he did for those two goals last night. If I were a scout for a league club, I'd definitely be recommending Joseph and Muir for further attention.

I have just looked at the Dorking line-up and noticed that David Ray and Giuseppe Sole played. Eight seasons ago, Sole ? for Woking in the FA Cup at Vale Farm ? and Ray ? for Carshalton were one of the best players on their respective teams, and Ray was a constant thorn in the Hendon side. I am sure someone like Billy Bricknell or Charlie Moone would add to their career goal tallies (almost) every time they played the mighty Greens, but it is nice to see a couple of others reduced to the ranks of mere mortals.
