Potential unwanted club record
Views: 5541
Having lost our fourth cup match last night out of four played this season, we will set an unwanted club record should we lose in our first match in this season's London Senior Cup.
Never yet in the history of the club as a senior club, going back to 1912-13, have we lost in the first match of each cup entered in any season!
The nearest we have come so far was in 1962-63, when we lost at the first attempt in six of the seven cups we entered - the saving grace that season was the FA Cup in which we played five matches.
The six cups we exited at the first attempt were the FA Amateur Cup, London Charity Cup, London Senior Cup, Middlesex Senior Cup, Middlesex Charity Cup, and Mithras Floodlight Cup - a two-legged competition in which we played and lost two matches.
