I'm thinking Napoleonic Wars kinda stuff! Napoleon once quipped, "Yes I know he's a great General, but is he lucky?"
Napoleon knew the virtues of luck. If Lee had no luck last week, he's found a rabbit's foot this week!
It sounds via twitter, as if they could have had several, we weathered the storm and broke their resolve - or 'squares' if Napoleon is dropping by! If in my minds eye that is a realistic reflection, in fact anywhere near, that must have been an astonishing watch. A priviledge, some may say, a reward, for those of whom were their to see it. My only regret is that I wasn't. I'll take some personal solace in that having sponsored the lad Carvalho's shirt, I am clearly owed an assist or two!
To quote Nelson, "Hendon expects every man to do his duty"
They've certainly done that today! The Iron Duke and Nelson were winners, that's an opening day marker if ever there was one.
Not getting carried away, daft to at this stage of courese, but Lee must be quietly very proud of his troops today.
Epic result.
