New lad. I think this is a really interesting addition to the fold. Reminds me of 2012 and Elliott Charles. He of course worked in tandem with Ngoyi. I've prattled on enough on here over the years with my thoughts on having to have all three cylinders firing in a 4-3-3 and the lad Brooks is the outstanding issue. Either way, I like the option of going 4-4-2 or having Joe roam in the Mazzone sub-plot. I see he has his mate Blackmore back. Interesting match-up. My thoughts are cast back to that 2012 season with Elliott. 11 goals in 21 games. His all-round contribution was vital. Very interesting comparisons. Took us a while to get going, first league win in October, followed by my fave all-time performance away at Eastbourne in the cup. God the lads grafted that day. We only scored 48 league goals that season. I think this crew has more depth, and now more options. This ain't the Essex League and his contribution is for me more important than the goals. I think we can distribute them throughout the side. IF we turn SJP into a fortress, it could be a very promising season.
Looking forward to it.
