Last night

Not the most important game last night but one where at half-time I wanted to see a distinct improvement.

Up until Hayes' first goal we were okay but after they scored we regressed into bad habits again and conceded a second soft goal soon after.

The change up front at the break improved us immensely. Tahjae's willingness to stretch the Hayes centre-halves and run the channels created space for others behind him, Isaac in particular. Better finishing and we'd have won the tie in 90 minutes.

I thought Lucien was good, nice to see a goal from a set-piece and a pearler from Corey. Then the young lad in goal took the plaudits in the shoot out with four very good stops, the last one outstanding.

Tough one Saturday, but some encouraging signs last night.

Very enjoyable second half and penalties! Well done to our young keeper for some brilliant saves.

Good post-match interview with our manager too. Very open and honest and it sent a clear message to the squad about where they need to be in terms of effort and fitness.

Thought we were done at half time to be honest. But the 2nd half performance was a marked improvement and we fully deserved to take it to penalties where Dante was outstanding. Big shout to Shaun Lucien who had a marvellous 90 mins on the left wing and at times was unplayable. Heard a couple of Hayes & Yeading fans at half time discussing who they wanted in the next round so nice to disappoint them.
