HI a Supermarine fan here, first of all well done on staying up. Was at the game yesterday and was not to unhappy we lost, think it might have been different if we had something to play for, Spent a lot of time chatting to some off your fans before and after the game and you came across as a very friendly loyal non-league fans, as we are at Marine. The guy behind the bar wearing the community top was a very nice guy with good info, pleasure to meet him. Its clubs like your's which make it worth a 4 hour round trip to watch non -league football. Will return next season and hopefully some of you will come to Marine where a warm welcome awaits you all .Again well done and lets hope for a better season for you all next time round.

Can I reciprocate and say that I had a friendly chat with a Supermarine supporter just before kick-off. That’s what makes football so enjoyable, free of segregation. The genial fan quickly advised me that “Swindon” has been dropped. “We are simply Supermarine!” Great! Thank you for posting on Hendon’s forum in such a generous way.

As to the game, it was result over quality. I feel we were fortunate to have such a sensible referee, who did his best to let play flow, and avoided showing unnecessary cards. Apart from one accidental error in judging a Supermarine defender’s headlock on his own keeper a foul, he was near faultless. It was refreshing to start on time, and to Hendon’s benefit, only a minute was added to the first half, and just four to the second half, despite some lengthy stoppages and several substitutions. I think he judged it spot on!
Maybe a touch of bias here!
