Playoff permutations

As I see things it's between us, Leiston and Leatherhead to join Folkestone and (probably) Dulwich.

Margate and Staines can get there but not at our expense.

Luckily we play both Leatherhead and Leiston and if we beat either we're in the play offs.

Win both, and if Billericay win at home on the last day of the season and we end up third.

Plenty to play for lads. Let's build on today's great result

A chance to go up a league. Wow! And finally broke the Leatherhead hoodoo. I don't know what sort of team will go to Leiston now but surely a few should be rested. I can't really see any benefit in busting a gut for 3rd place when you are likely to play the same team in the PO anyway. Leiston themselves look pretty much booked for the last place as long as they don't lose heavily against us which is unlikely. Not sure how the play offs work. Is it 2nd v 5th and 3rd v 4th like in the EFL? Still hope it's Dulwich but I guess most Greens followers will want to save Dulwich for the final.

Just answered this on the website as it happens.

Semi finals are a one off game, and are 2nd v 5th and 3rd v 4th and will be on Thursday 3rd May.

Final will be on Monday 7th May and be played on the home ground of the higher ranked side.

Therefore, as things stand, the semis would be Dulwich v Leiston and Folkestone v Hendon.

Assuming Billericay beat Folkestone, if we beat Leiston and leapfrog Folkestone we're then at home in our one leg playoff so there is an arguable benefit in finishing third.
Plus my each way bet on us to win the league might pay three spots..... Just have to remember who I bet with to check!

According to Football web pages Hendon will lose both games and still finish in the play offs. Which gives us a bit of confidence does it not? I know you have to take everything that site predicts with a monster pinch of salt but we're in a good position. From the previous 2 games I've seen against Leatherhead, I'd say they are a real bogey side. They slaughtered us each time. We might need a point at Leiston and that will be nervy to say the least.

I hope the play off is against Dulwich. I think we can beat them. Folkestone looks tougher to me. Lesiton will be the easiest if it's them. Pray God it's not Leatherhead again as we'll have no chance haha! There I am getting ahead of myself again...just get the point lads...

I'd respectfully question David's analysis in one unlikely scenario only.
What happens if we lose to Leatherhead midweek say by 3 goals, and Leiston put 5 past Needham Market without reply.
We then go to their place behind them on goal difference.
If Leatherhead then win at Tonbridge, a draw at Leiston is no longer quite good enough for us. However barring this disaster a point is most probably enough.

Phenomenal Season

Heartiest contrafibularities to Gary, Freddie and the team on reaching the play-offs - and bagging an overdue Middlesex Cup for the first time since Dave Anderson's hat-trick.
The Lord alone knows how Hendon, Folkestone or Leiston will get on in Connie South - well, maybe The Lord and Bognor Regis Town - but that's for another day.
You've all done very well.

And what a way to finish the regular 46 games. They say the table doesn't lie over the course of the season and finishing third is exactly what our team deserve. Onto Thursday and hopefully bank holiday Monday!
Massive week ahead lads, focus on the prize and, no matter what happens thanks for a great season.
