Re Good Grief

What a season it is turning out to be, I think the side we have at present is even more exciting than the one that made the play offs a couple of years ago, they have when one considers the average age an attitude of never giving up and all showing great pride in wearing the Hendon shirt, lets hope they make the play offs they definitely deserve it and I hope they stay with us for next season, I at present cannot get to games as recently I had a pacemaker fitted and cannot drive at present, but I still follow every game on twitter. So good luck in the remaining games and every player deserves the success they have achieved. Come on you Greens.

All the best to you Les. Like you, I can no longer get to games but go through all the match day emotions via the football web pages and Twitter. It's going to be a very close run thing with all the contenders having some very tough games. Everything crossed for the Greens in both league and MSC final - seem to remember we won our last final played at Uxbridge, I somehow got lost but did make it to the ground in time for kick off!

Sadly we didn’t win our last final at Uxbridge. I seem to recall that Hampton & Richmond Borough beat us 3–0 in the Middlesex Senior Cup final in 2007–08. Our record at Honeycroft is pretty dire, and as it is a place which is terribly difficult for non-drivers to get to, it is a venue high on my least favourite list.

It's sad to grow old! I think that having struggled to find the ground that night and seeing us well beaten, I excised the result from my memory! The MSC final in that neck of the woods that I incorrectly remembered was against Uxbridge in 2003/04 when after extra time we won 3-1 at Yeading
For once pleased to see a Billericay victory last night over play-off rivals (and MSC opponents) Staines.

Funnily enough I wrote about that game at Yeading just a couple of weeks ago. I tried to be outraged at Dale Binns’ red card, but he fell into the trap of being goaded into a silly act.

Uxbridge always seem to give us trouble and I can remember a load of awful games at the Honeycroft – from Dave Mawson’s team Middlesex Charity Cup final debacle in 1982 onwards.
