Interesting week

I've had a real problem with football across the board of late. Outside the contenders, most teams in the leagues I've seen are seemingly for the best part 'ordinary'. Some of the results in our league seem at times bizarre. The defending is highly questionable. I've just watched the latest Bostik League vid. Dulwich versus the Met is well worth a look. The Met gifted at least three of the goals, shambolic at the back. How good are Dulwich? Nine wins and a draw in the last ten in the league - last defeat against us! The Met had been on a similar run - How good are they? I'm coming to the genuine conclusion we are as potentially good as anything in the league. I think we have had a couple of midfield (horizontal) issues - and that is going to be the real acid test for us this week. A bit more guile. Plenty of SWOT analysis for the management.
Good luck to Gary and the lads - fascinating couple of games.

What I notice about us compared to other teams is that we sometimes seem to have difficulty in turning a match around. The best teams in the league can turn a match around when they are a goal behind. We find that very difficult for the most part. Most of our great displays come from steamrollering teams and then holding on. In other words we don't really seem to get very many dirty wins if you like. All our wins mainly come from great all round team displays. We can't like rely on one or two of our better players to win us a game when we are desperate. In my opinion this is what stops us from really challenging sustainably.
I mean we'll be there or thereabouts but we always need to be at our very best to get wins whilst a Dulwich or Ricay or pull off wins from the jaws of defeat. I don't really see us doing that too many times this season. However you are right in everything you say apart from our opponents tonight and Ricay the league is a much of a muchness. I also agree that defending in this league is by the by. Teams seem to just attack attack attack for the most part and defending is an after thought at times. To be honest who cares. It's been fun following the Bostik league this season which has been much more open and expansive with many teams letting go of the shackles. Let's face it this season there's not much at stake with only one going down so you might as well give it a good go to get goals and get out of this frigging league haha!
