Worthing

Not a great performance but won ugly. The wind had a big part to play with the Worthing keeper kicking out of touch regularly. Must admit after going 0-1 down I couldn't see a win coming. But a near post Niko goal and a beautiful half volley from Josh Walker after he chested it down made it a brilliant turnaround. Play poorly and win. A good strategy. Great ground and facilities. Very average ref. A good day out.

Spent an extra 2 hours on the trains than planned due to breakdowns and the weather - but ultimately it was worth it. Rob - hope you managed to make it home before the trains stopped running!
First half I personally felt that we didn't take the windy conditions into account enough, with the ball spending too much time in the air. When we did keep the ball down, we made good inroads although couldn't score. Defence worked as hard as ever and a couple of good saves from Tom. For me, probably our worst 45 minutes of the season - and let's be fair, we haven't had many poor halves so we were probably due one.
Their goal was an absolute screamer, don't think there was much we could have done about that, but was pleased with the character we showed to fight back and ultimately score two well taken goals. Good ball into Niko from Jake for the first, and a fine volley from Josh for the second. For me that's the sign of a really decent side - one that plays poorly but still picks up a win. Makes up for one of those games where we played well but lost earlier in the season.

Agree with all the above. Just got home - smack on 7 hours! Annoyed I missed my all-time biggest cock-up by 23 minutes! Big thanks to David Coote, it was getting a tad dicey for a while. Despite the conditions, I thought it was similar in style to the last visit. Great subs changed emphasis. Tom saved us yet again. That lad Eggleton - worth his weight in gold.
Those conditions, persisting with pleasantries. Passing very difficult. Purge forward, direct. Very harsh, I know, just glad to move on. Players celebrations shows what it meant.
Tough day all round, we've passed another test.
Gary must be delighted.

Nice to meet those on the train yesterday, shame it was such an awful game and I'm glad your guy got home ok, thanks to the Southern Rail muppets I got in at 0145
Good luck for the rest of the season and make sure you stop Billericay getting promoted
Regards
Kenty
