Superb performance last night

I can't believe that no-one has beaten me to acknowledge the complete all round team performance last night. Apart from just beating our bogey side, we did it comprehensively and should have scored a lot more. From the keeper and the solid back four, to the pressing of the midfield and having pace up front, we will cause problems for many teams this season. Fantastic hat-trick by Nico. Still buzzing!

I think almost all fans of a Green persuasion were a little shocked by that to be honest. We just never really saw that coming did we! Now we're had time to digest that performance we can bask in the glory of a fantastic all round performance. Obviously we caught Enfield completely cold and we have to be thankful for that, but that doesn't take anything away from the performance. Must admit I did fear the usual tough end when they got the pen but Tom came to the rescue yet again. he didn't have a lot to do but what more can you ask for than a penalty save.

Going forward the team was totally slick. The most notable difference being the clinical finishing from Niko. He just needs to watch the verbals and the needless bookings. He's no good getting himself suspended with ill discipline. Last year we created plenty of chances but we missed hatfuls of them in turn. This year we get a sniff and bang it's a goal! That will make us a force to be reckoned with in the Bostik no doubt. Also amazed that Uchechi was let go by BW and we managed to get him. I remember the game at BW in the cup last year. That guy looked class and I still say he's a class or two above Bostik level. He's probably a bit small for the NL and hence they let him go but he's gonna be a big hit for the Greens if he carries on like this. Everyone else was at least a 7/10. All round 8.5/10. Keep it up lads!

I was worn out after last night - but yes, absolutely agreed with everything above. We built on the positive performance at Tonbridge, and then some. Enfield clearly haven't gelled yet after the upheaval in the summer and we caught them at a good time, but let that take nothing away from the quality of our performance.

Hard to pick out individuals when everyone was at it, but big props to Jake Eggleton who I thought was a bit edgy on Saturday, understandably - last night, particularly second half, he was outstanding not only defensively, but gaining confidence to get forward as well. Also the first I've seen of Daniel Uchechi, he looks a very very good player and is willing to track back as well.

Would be lovely to build some consistency with another performance of this ilk on Saturday.

Special mention to Luke Tingey who suffered a broken wrist after 20-odd minutes and played with it all the way to half-time before being replaced. He is due to have surgery today and I am sure I speak for everyone when I wish him a speedy recovery and return to action.

My views were well documented post match to all and sundry. This is without doubt the best squad I've seen in my nigh-on decade watching the lads. Best ninety I've seen was at Eastbourne in the FA Cup. That team broke up with the loss of Greg and Elliott up-front. I think this crew have more depth.
What really, really impressed me - even more so than from Tonbridge - was the way we fought to regain possession. We closed down, hardly gave away a free-kick in doing so, we won challenges with precision and pre-empted everything they had. The work we did when not in possession led to everything we posed in an attacking sense. Enfield, on the back of a mass exodus, were not themselves, but last season would have probably still turned us over. Shout out to Keagan, Big Dave and Murphs, the physical effort was impressive on the back of the weekend.
We should be in for a really solid campaign. If so, I intend to enjoy it. I can still feel the anguish I felt on the journey back from Leatherhead last season. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. It's payback time.
Well done to Gary for his commitment, diligence and application. The players will be chomping at the bit to aspire to our obvious potential - long may it continue - Very, very impressive indications all round.
