Thank you everyone. What a Day. What a Season!

What a day! I try and describe the passion involved with non league football to anyone who'll listen. Today was the epitome of why we bother. The late kick off could only happen to Hendon. I wouldn't have been shocked if a plane landed on the pitch in stoppage time.
What a season to become a regular. I just want to thank everyone who has been so friendly and made this such a special club to get behind and Silver Jubilee Park such a welcoming place, for Edgware games as well, from staff, players, directors, management and fellow drinkers.
A very special day for me as Scarborough have also been on an incredible run and today secured a home game in the play offs on Tuesday. A happy day indeed.
Well done everyone once again. Today will live with me for the rest of my life. Here's to next season.

'Until the light takes us' was inscribed on my hotel door
'Staines' quite literally, were all over the floor
So why do we all do it? It's so hard to explain
The mental anxiety, the travel, the financial drain
My pre-match ritual sees Sophey make me a baguette
Highlight of the day, until Casey finds the back of the net
Off he runs towards Glasgow's real 'Green and White'
Burgess Hill town score late giving us all a genuine fright
Our friend Alex Barratt is a real undisputed Hendon star
We spend the entire evening propping up the club's bar
Come the end of the night players are dancing on the table
Confirmation if required that we are all mentally unstable
The Gaffer popped by for an introductory chat
I mumbled something incoherently, he must think I'm a prat
It's part his fault I'm a drunk and constantly broke
In Earls Court, five pounds for a pint is beyond a joke
Those whom run the club are a real genuine quality act
We've got the best Gaffer in the league, an indisputable fact
Yesterday, like this drivel, has no rhyme or reason
John Fordham is on the mend - See you next season!

I heard the Greens were coming to Town
a local old Kingsbury boy said Ok I'll come around..
it started with Worthing and a 3 nil loss
what the hell I'll come at any cost!
I had caught the bug of following the lime green
I looked at the forum everyday, far too keen
through bad times I kept the posts lean and mean
when trouble came, I almost gave in..
but the gaffer, he had other ideas
he knew the team had balls of steel
when chips were down we fought like tigers
never turned into whingers and whiners
On the final day we thought we were safe
then Burgess puts the fear of death
into green hearted souls left bereft
but cometh the hour cometh the man,
Sir Casey of the McClaren clan!
We leave the scene for the season's gone
with hope that it won't happen anon..
but if it does and we're down and dead again
we'll know that the fight will never end!

It's the final game of the season and the outcome is immense
There are lots of people around me who can't take the suspense
Despite our lowly place
Our current form is a saving grace
Let's hope other results go our way
To give us the perfect day
The news comes through the officials are stuck in their car
Has there ever a been a season with so many problems so far
The game eventually starts extremely late
An early goal may Jane sealed our fete
Then a shout goes up that at anither ground they may have been a score
It soon becomes clear we need at least a draw
Half time whistle goes the players look down
The gaffer walks off with a disapproving frown
Time for a change with a youthful Cole
Staines now know it won't be an easy stroll
The players reappear with a sense of belief
The fans are far from feeling a sense of relief
Before you know it SJP goes mad
A Casey MaClarem header that was not bad
Forty minutes of tension and angst remain
For us to seek our ultimate gain
Every kick and challenge is played by us all
420 of us kicking every ball
Then the final whistle goes
The total relief around the ground shows
I feel exhausted through everything I have seen
But isn't that what comes with being a green
With Gary Freddie Simon and David at the hub
We will continue to be a viable sustainable community club
