Well done Enfield fans.

Take a look at the Ryman League site and read of the Enfield fans who travelled up to Highgate Utd recently to pay their respects to all those who were affected by that terrible day in 1967 when one of the Highgate players was struck by lightning during the F.A.Amateur Cup tie against the old Enfield side.and tragically lost his life.Well done lads you are true football supporters and your club should be proud of you.

Fully agree with your sentiments, Claremont Man. I remember the tragedy well (at least reading about it) because it was only a few weeks after my first ever Hendon game. I have been wary of lightning and thunder at any sports event ever since.
When we had our match with Enfield abandoned at Southbury Road in April 1999, I seem to recall there had been a thunderstorm as well as heavy rain that made the pitch unplayable and a couple of the Enfield officials talked about the incident 32 years earlier.
