Billericay

With team morale probably at an all time low for the season I'm not sure tonight's match is really coming at the right time. I don't think another game so quickly after Saturday's palava is really what the team needs but you never know a bit of siege mentality might work wonders.

Looking at the opponents I see a team that underperforms mostly with a few good days thrown in. They tend to score either 1 or 2 goals away from home so if we keep them down to maximum two we might be able to get something. If they have an off night we can even win but a draw or narrow loss seems most likely. To say that a win is a must is becoming a bit superfluous these days with the team's plight getting slowly worse and worse though. It's getting to the stage where even a win is not really much use if it's not followed by another and another. On another note the forecast for tonight seems to be mist and fog around 8 onwards though this is a general forecast in the London area. Just saying it's possible it could get bad enough to affect the game. Might come tonight but I'll probably wait for Saturday. Good luck Greens!

The club has made its decision.

Let's have a good turn out and get behind the lads and Gary when they need it most.

Hopefully you won't mind the second goal? Sounds like we're having the best of this so far.

Well I'll settle for it if I have to! (sarcasm off)

No seriously we're in extreme danger of claiming 3pts here. Shittericay haven't turned up!

I don't know - do we laugh or cry?
Oh well, nothing we can do but go again. On the bright side regardless of the past couple of days events, I maintain there's enough to suggest we are going to be fine. Evaluating team line-ups the one striking admission for me was Casey. Hopefully he is due back - a nice luxury for the Gaffer to be able to select from something which resembles a full squad.
Next couple of games take on an added significance. Stick at it.

I think (not 100% on this) Casey's absence is down to picking up 10 yellows therefore having to serve a 2 match suspension - which should have been Sudbury and Billericay, but will presumably now be Wingate and Grays, since both games were abandoned.

Many thanks for the info with regards to Casey - I was unaware that abandoned games violated such criteria.
We just can't catch a break at present - it'll blow over. I'm sure the lads appear to have sufficient determination to see us home.
3 points (without any interventions - man-made or otherwise), Wingate!
Keep fighting

I was worried about the mist of doom. Is it really foggy there? I'm a few streets away and there's no fog at all.

Couldn't see across the width of the pitch at the stand end.
I think the warmer ground surrounded by the cooler fields and no wind meant that the fog was staying.

Well that's a bit naff innit. Even the weather Gods conspire against us. They should've just called the game off to save us the disappointment. We had the red mist descending on Saturday so now we get to sample the real thing! Comical!

How annoying - we played really well this evening - first goal was a really good move involving Ball, Charles and Stanislaus, and we were very much on top when the proceedings were called to a halt.

The conditions were really weird - the stadium seemed to be the only foggy place in NW London - driving back up the M1 I didn't see any more fog until J9 around Harpenden. As Embee said, the warmer stadium - together with the lights, seemed to be attracting the mist & fog into the stadium. As soon as the lights were switched off it started clearing! Totally the right decision to start, and also to abandoned the game. I took a walk out into the middle while the game was suspended and I couldn't see any of the corner flags or either touchline.

As for Casey - Hendonboy is correct, he was suspended for 2 games for 10 bookings - the first of which was AFC Sudbury. As he said, as both Saturday and today were abandoned, he now misses Wingate and Grays! Harsh on Casey, but that's the way it is.
