3pts today - we Needham!

Bad jokes aside, football is stupid sometimes so I expect a win today for the Greens. Like a fool I'm even betting on it!

18 mins gone. 2 down. Obviously didn't need the points enough.

The game is not over yet. Have faith. Eastleigh had a man sent off after about 20 mins. That match is 10 aside already. That is going to be a lively game. Come on you greens.

Well as soon as faith was given it was taken away. Score and let in immediately. Criminal. I'm trying to stay positive but the team keeps shooting itself in the proverbial foot. As I type 3-1 turns to 4-1. It just gets worse..

Looks like a game one wishes they had attended. Whatever the final score it won't have been boring. Hendon do get our adrenaline pumping. By the time I press send it could be 9 - 4 to Hendon. Here's hoping.

We need someone to mark Luke Ingram tenaciously. Without him it is 2 - 2.

5-2. This could be double figures

Good luck with that John! :-)
Can you believe there has been 5 goals from the 30th minute till the 39th. Has there ever been more goals in 9 minutes in the history of structured league football?

I do wish I was there. This is a belter. If anyone has bet on the correct score and first scorer they will rake in a fortune.

In 1983-84 we beat Bromley 8-1 at home in the league. Our last 5 goals were timed at 80, 82, 84, 86, and 88 minutes respectively!

so 5 in 8 lol. If we get 5 in 8 today we might still lose with our defence!

Almost exactly nine years ago (15 December 2007), there were four goals in five minutes. It did take the score from Leyton 1–7 Hendon, to Leyton 1–11 Hendon, including Jamie Busby striking a 51-second double (Ivalio Dimitrov, who scored the 11th goal, one managed a 1-minute hat-trick for one of the Hendon youth teams!). Such was the rate of goals that our version of Live Scores at the time recorded one of the goals twice and a friend rang me to advise me that Live Scores had gone berserk and given us a 12–1 win. His disappointment at learning it was only 11–1 was made more acute because he had decided, at the last minute, not to go to Lea Bridge Road.
The seven-goal half is equally unusual. There were eight in that game at Leyton and seven when we beat Staines Town 8–1 in a League Cup tie at Chertsey in September 1997, one of the very few matches in his career when Gary McCann was substituted (Leyton also scored seven without reply when they beat us 9–1 in February 1989).

Talking of goal-times, I've crunched some stats (league games only), effectively splitting all goals into four quarters.
At home, played 11, scored 11. Amazingly, despite the perceived lack of goals, we have only scored once in all the first half's played, (versus Dulwich)! No goals scored between the 23rd minute and the 45th. None!
There lies everything we need to know. In the same timeframe we have conceded 19 goals (home and away).
We have conceded 52 in the league - 26 in the first half - 26 in the second half! It all re-iterates we appear to be fading after 20 minutes or so, consistently throughout the season.
Virtually half the goals scored at home come late on, hardly surprising in the circumstances, in pursuit of a winner or chasing a deficit.
Usually, I would personally dismiss this as complete tosh as an exercise. It may however in this instance re-iterate how we tend to perform as a whole. The annual wonky lab experiment of a Xmas Harrow game will probably go some way to blowing these stats out the water - we could hopefully start with the most important of all - a win. Get to work chaps.

Keep it tight early doors in the second half? :-)

Ok we might avoid double figures. Get the next goal and they might get jittery..who am I kidding!

might as well have just forfeited the game 5-2 and got on the coach and come back. At least make it 5-3 so we can say we won the second half lol, yes we're that desperate!

0 - 0 in the secobd half
0 - 0 in the second half
Tempting fate... Shows some redilience in being 5 - 2 down.

Just to help our situation - Jerome Federico played for Hampton & Richmond Borough today. Don't know at present if he's moved or if it's a dual registration.
19 players signed since mid-October, 42 players named in line-ups so far this season, including the three new faces today.

Grays lost 5 zip today at H&W and they slaughtered us 4 Tuesday gone, yet we played well v H&W and got a 1-1. Football's totally random at this level. Just depends if it's your day or not or how the players are feeling since they are not pros and have other worries apart from football.

As there were only about 10 of us at Needham today here is a run down of the game.We conceded after 3 mins to a free kick that looked a little harsh however we could have had a penalty given against us prior to this.Their 2nd looked like a foul on our keeper from a high cross Karl then got one back however we were only back in it for a minute before it was 3-1 then 4-1 and 5-1 Karl then made it 5-2 Arthur should have made it 5-3 but missed a good chance with a header.2nd half was pretty even with maybe us shading it.Had 2 youth team players on the bench who came on .Good support from the Hendon loyal well 2 of them who didn't stop singing for the whole game.Enjoyable day nice people decent bar just the result that was wrong. On to boxing day and a vital game against Harrow lets get behind the team .Always suspicious when the ref knows the opposition players by their 1st names and when he kept calling one of their players Dobbo I feared for us but 2nd goal apart I thought he was ok.

I thought that their 2nd goal was a huge clanger by the keeper rather than a potential foul on him, but it's all guesswork from 100 yards away!

Haven't been to a game for a while but it sounds like the constant changes aren't helping. Tge team lacks confidence and no wonder No one knows who is going to be in the squad one week to the next. Some one else mentioned 42 players registered this season. Some very good players have left or been forced out because they were never given a chance to settle, one mistake and your lise support of the management while a few others can do no wrong.
The facts speak for themselves. The management is reaping what they have sown. The players at one point enjoyed playing together but were unlucky in not getting the points they deserved. That is no longer the case, the current team simply isn't good enough. The management have to take full responsibility for that.

Slightly harsh. It's very difficult for any club at Hendon's level if a rival club comes in and offers more money. That and injuries have certainly not helped from the matches I've seen.

I appreciate the financial struggles but most of the other clubs are in the same position. The "other teams" are, poaching our players only holds for a handful of changes. Not sure I can have any sympathy with that stance. Cousins departure for one, and I think it has been mostly downhill since then.
