Burgess Hill

Point gained there. Still not playing the type of football that we know we can (and the surface deserves). Managed to take a few positives out of the game, but still get the feeling that the team is getting to know each other. On to Merstham where we can hopefully kickstart the season.

Other notable points include: the worst throw-in I've ever seen, some nice burgers, Burgess Hill fans singing about flying ants and what appeared to be a member of their coaching staff trying to confront one of their supporters at the end (?).

Anyway, probably a fair result all things considered.

That looked every inch like two bottom six teams scrapping (as it was last season)

Their 6 was MOTM by a mile, gave Kezie absolutely nothing, had we scored 5 minutes earlier I think we'd have won, as they clearly shat themselves after conceding.

Their 6 did have a decent game but kezzie missed one glorious chance in the first half and should have had a free kick near the end which would have led to a chance.Their problems for me came when the number 5(think they signed him or he has played for l`orient in the French league)went off.Think the league this year will be contested by a lot of average and closely matched teams. So far Worthing have looked the best side we have faced although newly promoted sides often start well.

Looking at the other results I agree with Paul, we are definitely going to find it tough to get out of the cellar the way we are playing. Take all the positives you want, neither side were very good so it will be interesting to see what happens when we get some decent opposition. Merstham have only conceded 3 goals in 4 games, I am sure they are disappointed with only having 3 point to show for it. Saturday will no doubt be a tough match.

Grittiest performance of the night was the Burgess Manager going after a Hillian supporter, very strange display.

Not the greatest of spectacles, quite a disjointed showing again, however I think grabbing that point could do the boys' confidence a bit of good.

As mentioned by Bryan, an evening with some enjoyable and amusing little sideshows.
