I have this afternoon launched a new blog - HFC's Homecoming - to mark the club's return to the Hendon area.
Feel free to read and comment / feedback on the content and look of the site.
Will keep it updated as often as time allows.

An emotional afternoon yesterday as the Dons played their first real home League game for almost 8 years, sadly we were well beaten by a very good Worthing side who deservedly took the 3 points back to Sussex by the sea . I particularly like the idea of naming the stand and end areas of the ground after those who have done so much to help the club survive the years in exile. On this theme, could the heroes of the past be remembered in words and pictures in a designated area, perhaps in the clubhouse. Just a word on the new shirts,YUK, a cross between seasick green and mushy pea green, the person responsible for choosing this should be sent to the Tower.

I hadn't dared to be the first to comment on the new shirts knowing my propensity to upset certain fans - Claremont Man is 100% right, surely we're not required to shout "Come on you Vomits?" - a kit re-think please.

Agree on the kit - horrible colour - best described politely as a mix of luminous yellow & green! I do know who chooses the kit colours and I think this is a very poor decision, assuming its something we as a club had control of. That said, we are constrained by what Adidas have available given that we get the first team kit for free, so it could be it was that or nothing, and given we currently don't have a shirt sponsor, we can't really wear last season's shirt. I suspect we'll have to live with it this season, but hopefully we'll get something better next year. But I certainly don't like it!
Positives on yesterday first. I arrived an hour before kick off, and there was already a bit of a buzz around the ground that's been missing for much of the time. Good to see a number of old faces around, some of whom I don't recollect seeing since we were at Claremont Road. Hopefully they've enjoyed the experience despite the result and will be back again.
As for the game - the result speaks for itself. I'm not keen on three at the back, but Gary's clearly got his reasons for planning to play that system as we used it throughout pre-season. The performances during pre-season had been very promising, but yesterday it all seemed a bit lethargic, and Worthing were quicker to the ball, and more clinical when they had possession. Worthing also defended superbly - limiting our chances. Hopefully come 10pm tomorrow, we'll have our first points of the season on the board.
For me the most important thing yesterday was that we played a home league game at somewhere we can really call home. The result, whilst disappointing, was secondary.
This just might be a first ...

I don’t think there is a single sentiment from Steve with which I can disagree. The shirt is a shade of green, but only just – and it would be almost acceptable as a second away kit – if that was ever needed. As for three at the back, I understand why we play it; I just think we lack the players who thrive in it.
Saturday’s homecoming was brilliant and the attendance of 321 was great. It was such a shame that the events on the pitch did not come close to matching everything else.
