Totally outclassed

Difficult to remember a game in which Hendon were so completely outplayed and outthought in every aspect - the old adage "we were lucky to get nil" comes to mind. That said, congratulations to Tonbridge on a very impressive display.

Agreed, Mike. There was no lack of effort from the Greens but Tonbridge were a class above anything I've seen apart from Dulwich away this season. Very strong, but playing some good football with it.

It was men against boys, and a good gauge for the younger guys as to the standards of the best this division has to offer.

I'm not too disheartened, other results went our way and we have more winnable games ahead starting Tuesday.

One win or two draws from the next two should see us safe. We already know Brentwood are rubbish from last week so really shouldn't be losing there. Still hope Borough get sucked into it personally but they won today and will probably be OK as well.

I've had a problem all year evaluating the strength of this division. Personally, I maintain Dulwich should have been home and dry long ago, with Tonbridge on their coat tails. What the hell do I know?
I was actually disappointed with Tonbridge to some degree - how many goals in this division come from set plays? I'm not convinced there a Maidstone. Kent dominance/catchment areas?
I am convinced of one thing - our own Dave Diedhiou could hold his own in either outfit.
The lad in the last couple of months, in a side, with contrasting levels of experience, as demonstrated a level of maturity, his presence has become clearly noticable.
The lad is displaying leadership rising above his peers. I maintain Ollie is next in line, leading by example.
Unlike others, I hope he continues with his loyalty and carries us forward.

Totally agree Big Dave has been the beating heart of HFC for some 8 years now - always gives his all and, fingers crossed, will achieve the milestone of 300 appearances by the end of the season. Long may he continue to wear a Hendon shirt - he would always be the first name on my team sheet.

As a Dulwich supporter, I'd say we have the strongest squad on paper, but not the best team. Dulwich haven't had a 1-0 away win all season, or a goalless draw. So they don't win away without scoring at least twice, and never nick a point unless they score at least once. So a lack of the type of dull and boring qualities needed to win a championship over nine months. Dulwich have lost only twice to teams currently in the top half of the table (Hampton and Billericay away), but have lost to five of the current bottom seven: home to Needham Market and away to Harrow, VCD, Lewes, Burgess Hill. Maybe too many ex-Conference players a bit past their best; still comfortably good footballers for this league, but maybe not quite sufficiently motivated when things start going wrong? I suspect it was muuh the same at Margate last year when many expected them to walk the league.
