Kingstonian

How did we lose that one. A tight first half saw few chances for either team. Team changes at half-time (Kezie for Big Dave for Hendon) saw a much more open and entertaining second half. A brilliant save by their keeper from Leon (nobody could believe it), two great chances for Kezie and a free-kick from Sam that was tipped over - the chances to win it were there but we just didn't take them.

Cheer's for the feedback. Must say personally, given our performance on Saturday, I felt a tad down at the result. Just have to take it on the chin.
Bigger picture, October's fixtures on paper look enticing. We need points.
The performances have improved markedly although we are still suspect to the counter-punch.
I have every faith the lads will push on from here on in, but we need to guard against complacency.
October is vital for accumulation of points relative to the overall performances.
It's time to push on.

Apart from the finishing, last night's was a very good performance. There was a real crispness about our passing and our defending was good (Luke Tingey had a really good first half). Gary changed the shape at half time from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 and it was good to see Kezie given a good run out as we pressed really hard in attack.

I'm sure Gary will be a bit unhappy about the way their winger skipped by a couple of challenges to set up the winning goal (a very similar goal to the East Thurrock late winner) but it was a really good goal!

After the goal Gary threw Kirbs up front and he made an immediate impact by bringing down a long ball for Kezie who put the ball over from close range on the stretch. It just wasn't meant to be last night!

We are settling down a bit now with players like Taggs and Murphy coming back into the team (both were good last night and Taggs looked really lively in the closing stages). We are definitely on the right lines and getting back to the performance levels of last season.
