canvey game

points chucked away today having been 2 up(ist well worked goal by morgan and 2nd luckily scored by tingey)we managed to concede 2 in 3 mins just before half time, onto 2nd half and despite having plenty of possession we rarely looked like scoring, lost count of how many times we had an opportunity to get a shot off yet tried to be like Barcelona and walk the ball into the net.their number 11 found space for the whole game and with a man of the match performance(which he duly won)scored the winner.after which murphy hit the post which rebounded on to a defenders hand which could have seen a penalty awarded.last few minutes saw some unsavoury action containing our sub andre de costa(being nastily fouled conceding a free kick and then an off the ball incident almost leading to a brawl).all in all not a great day at the office..still missing Braithwaite badly in my opinion.on to east Thurrock .

Any update on Elliot Braithwaite? He had to come off in the Wealdstone friendly and looked to be in a bad way.

I thought we stopped playing after they pulled one back. Very encouraging opening spell. We carried the ball forward with penetration and could/should have sealed the win. But the defence was, with the exception of Ryan, poor.
At least two of their goals were down to basic defending. Failing to close down incoming shots and crosses.
I'm frankly baffled. They combined well around Ollie who had his work cut out and their cross-field passing is always a threat. Typical Canvey stuff.
Second half, I don't think we posed as much as a threat as we should have. Performance indicative of Murphs. The lad was outstanding then second half pushed out wide he looked far less a threat.
The biggest annoyance is we frankly lost the plot, having been in such a strong position.
The lad from Enfield was knocking about so he may soon be on board. The lads to be fair put a solid shift, but there's no denying we're not firing on all cylinders.
But it was an improvement, with patience we will get it right.
Keep the faith chaps - we're on the right track.
