You can blame me

I take full responsibility for today's listless and punchless display - I have sponsored the matchball several times over the years, as I did today, and I'm pretty sure we have lost every time. I promise I won't do it again!
Only positive from today is that we managed 90 minutes without a card.

Not quite the case Mike. We beat Bognor 1-0 at Earlsmead in February 2014 and you were ball sponsor for that. http://www.hendonfc.net/Reports?id=5400

Suppose most on here are delighted we didn't pick up any bookings today. We didn't pick up any points either, but going by the past couple of threads it seems some have lost which is more important.
Re the actual game - woeful doesn't come close. Making Borough (who have forever been the measuring stick for crap teams in this league) look half decent and well worthy of the points is not acceptable by any standards, not going to single out individuals as I think at least 7-8 players were very poor, that was as bad a performance as Peacehaven last season - just hope it's the same watershed point for a change for the better.

Half a league, Half a league - more like half way up it! Charge of the light brigade. In a similar vein I thought we were regimented and rigid.
Livid at the goal-kicks into the stand for supposed flick-ons. Even their keeper joined in. Poor quality all round.
Delivery into the box, with the exception of Taggs very weak. No over-lapping. A lot at fault today.
I actually attribute some of this to playing Harrow. Typical local derby, poor quality and unpredictable mess. Same every time we play them. It's the one encounter I least look forward to. It's a wonky lab experiment.
I always maintain we should well and truly stuff them and it never does anything else other than infuriate the hell out of me. Today no exception.
Albiet we were very poor. We have been spoilt so some credence has to be given. I do have a concern with our midfield with similar players. I love to see midfielders drive forward and penetrate. I have one or two question marks but with personnel out for several more weeks what can you truly evaluate?
I believe Canvey is an expansive playground and may just give our forwards some chance to stretch their legs. It could be a productive exercise.
Keep at it.

... and did you know that Tennyson's great great (not sure how many) grandson is a Hendon supporter. He was also my boss when I retired!!
