Molesey

Good game last night. Played at a good tempo but with plenty of passing football from both teams. Every Hendon player had their moments and I'm sure Gary will be happy with the performance and the way things are shaping up.

Gary was able to field players in their favoured positions and we looked much better as a result.

Leon Smith up front gave us a cutting edge and he looked fit and hungry.

Tony Taggart on the left wing gave us great balance, linked well with Oli Sprague and delivered a couple of great balls. We lost our shape a bit when he went off.

Courtney Harris at the base of the midfield. 1st half he controlled the tempo of the game. 2nd half they pressed him harder so it was more about battling but he will learn from that.

Scott Shulton...lots of energy and some quality through balls for the two boys up front. Needless booking but otherwise looked good.

Sam Murphy tucked in on the right gave us energy, quick passing, quick pressing and a superb goal.

Sam Flegg did a great job as captain and along with the back four defended superbly.

Oli Sprague. What a player this kid is. If he can just up the concentration side of his defending a bit and stay fit, then he's a football league player without a doubt. Him and Taggart are an excellent blend on the left.

Melvin Minter in goal. Quite simply, that was a faultless display last night. Every element of his game looked spot on..catching, bravery, shot stopping, distribution and communication.

Jake Cass...good cameo and worked very hard when we were going through a slightly sticky patch. He'll get a few goals for us I'm sure.

Charlie Kuehn....gave a good account of himself at left-back for the last 20 mins. Got stuck in and did his job without fuss.

Molesey will feel a little bit hard done by because they had several chances to score and they definitely played their part but overall this was a deserved victory because of the quality displayed in both boxes.

Can't argue with any of that. Some tremendous performances all over the pitch from faces old and new - played some very good football at times. Only negative would be three pointless bookings in the last two games.

Hats of to Molesey too. They played some great football and a neutral observer would suggest that they perhaps deserved a little more from the game. Lovely people at the club as well. Burger was excellent and it's always great to see clubs offering a triple whammy of on-chip topping choices.
