Maidstone pitch

I'm hoping that maybe Rob can comment on this. The pitch last Saturday raised some concerns for me going forward to SJP. It was very noticeable that the rubber chip under-surface had come to the surface causing the pitch to look dark over large areas. This resulted in the ball when striking the pitch to become deadened and passes that you would expect, for example, to go out of play remained on the pitch. Is this a result of aging? Can we expect the same over time at SJP?

Deserved win by Maidtone - a couple of cracking goals and a couple of bad defensive errors. We had only 6 players from last season playing, partly because of holidays I believe, so could expect there to be some lack of cohesion - I'm sure Gary will sort this out.

I was surprised by the lack of Hendon support at the game - I reckon ~10 fans present. This was commented on by Maidstone fans.

John, I wasn't going to go as I despise that club and it's nasty supporters. But, tempted by cheap rail fares, I went.
It is not easy for away fans to stand together, so there may have been more than 10, but being scattered around not so easy to spot.
As I said, I think they are a nasty lot, I didn't wear any colours. Saturday's trip didn't alter my view.
