St Neots

What have we taken from today? Probably not that much. Our forwards on vacation left us with little in terms of target or hold-up play making the all round performance a bit of a non-event. Having said that I thought we were generally energetic. A couple of poorly conceded goals - half-time subs/reorganisation galvanized proceedings until the inevitable trialist intervention type stuff. The lad Bettache looks interesting.
On reflection this could well be the strongest Hendon squad in years. Square pegs and round holes type stuff aside, come the 8th August, I can't see us being anything other than being primed to go.

Few very promising performances from some of the new chaps in addition to some wonderfully erratic keeping at both ends (world class saves followed by proper circus stuff). The right result and a proper 'worldy', as I believe youngsters would say, from the St Neots lad. Doubt we'll see a better finish all season.
Proper pre-season friendly in all honesty.
St Neots a lovely club. Obviously ambitious and with a great set-up to progress further up the pyramid. Top-drawer food as well. The chips & curry sauce were a marvelous touch. Only disappointment was the insistence on playing music after they scored, a vile aberration that should be stamped out at any level of football.

It was One Step Beyond....(literally)
I agree with the music thing even when it's my favourite nutty boys and Camden's finest, Madness.
What next Cheerleaders?
Actually, part of me could tolerate Cheerleaders!
Then again, on reflection - no thanks!
If you want razzmatazz go and watch the MLS.

I was delighted to see two 16 year olds make their debuts at St Neots. Jeremie Agholor and Junior Okeke are products of our youth scheme, both of which have a promising future. The fact that these boys were included in the squad sends out a strong message to the youth set up and clearly shows our intention to use home grown talent when appropriate. I was very impressed with the set up at St Neots!
