Misconduct Charge?
Naturally I presume the club will make an appropriate announcement in due course with regards to recent developments.
I'm certainly not one to condone poor conduct and no-one has felt more angst towards ill-discipline. Personally I am not sure the punishment fits the crime.
I think in the circumstances it is probably best for the club to clarify its position before mere supporters like myself add their h'appenyworth.

I believe the club won't be making a statement until after Kevin and Casey have had their appeals, so as to not risk prejudicing them.
For anyone wondering, this is what Rob is alluding to. m.times-series.co.uk/sport/13358020.Hendon_s_Maclaren_brothers_banned_from_football_following_brawl/

I don't really want to get into specifics here and now, reading the FA decision raises more questions than answers for me.
However, what is extremely disappointing is the lack of anything official from the club. For many supporters, this may be the first they've heard of any misconduct charge against the club or players, yet we have quotes being given to the press by club officials before anything goes on the website?
Come on, guys. One of the most frustrating parts of the whole Enfield Town scenario was the lack of official communication. We didn't need any comments on the perceived justness/harshness of the penalties imposed, just a simple acknowledgement outlining the facts would have done. I don't think its good enough to find out about incidents like this from other sources.
I'm not seeking to personally criticise anyone, I realise that there is a difficult balancing act to be achieved and that we cannot be seen to prejudice any appeal. But something as monumental and far-reaching as this, I think us fans deserve some sort of statement from the club.

John, this sort of thing doesn't happen very often and our publicity machine is not as slick as those of bigger clubs.
The first I heard of the written reasons being posted on the FA website was when the Non-League Paper called me to ask for my comments/reaction.
We had asked the FA to hold off posting anything until the outcome of the appeals at which point we would have put a statement on the website that would have reflected the final decisions/sanctions, rather than the pre-appeal versions.
I would expect there to be a statement on the website within the next 48 hours.

Simon, thanks for the clarification.
Completely understand that it's not always possible to react as quickly as perhaps might be wished. I was more troubled by the possibility that the club would be silent until the appeal was heard.
Happy to stand corrected and appreciate the response.

My personal reaction was more damage limitation. I maintain in all walks of public life when scandal (for want of a better word), hits, those at the top should always act quickly and decisively.
Their hands are probably tied, so I would in no means criticize anybody at the club. Just an acknowledgment may deflect any reputational damage to the club - that was more my concern.
I've read the charge and the recent comments made by Simon - as is the norm I thought he relayed the correct tone.
I like everybody else will have varied opinions on what has transpired and I consequently maintain that if anything should be presented post the final proceedings.
Not withstanding the severity of the events, we cannot let this have any negative impact on what we should all be concentrating on which is events on the pitch.

A ban until February 1st is ridiculous. For a post-match punch up? That's longer than Luis Suarez got for biting an opponent on the pitch during games on multiple occasions. Ludicrous.
Good job I'm not an official so I can say that I think the FA are an absolute joke from top to bottom.

Could someone please confirm when Kevin's ban ends. Initially I read it as August next year, but reading the article again it may be August this year. Someone else I know read it as next year.

I read it as effectively a year's ban ie August 2015 to August 2016.

What comes to mind for me is the Kingstonian goalkeeper jumping in the the stand and fighting with fans and I do think he got a ban that was as long as Kevin's. And from "whatever happened" there is also to sides to every story but it doesn't show well that no one can get the other persons side of the story as he has gone on the missing list according to the report. To me both Kevin and casey are being made to look like the big bad wolfs while the other person plays victim and just sits back and watches.
I know people some people are going to disagree with me but at the end of the day if anything happened like it was "said" there would have been a reason for actions.
Both of them are great guys and I hope it all goes well for them.

As Nick says, it's clear to me from the article that the bloke who started the trouble has done a runner and refused to have any part in the hearing. So the disciplinary panel has basically guessed and come up with a Draconian punishment that excels in its ridiculousness. Hopefully the appeal makes them see sense, but doubt it. Hope whatever happens that the club sticks by the lads.

Bit more detail if you read the FA papers. The chap who did the runner has jacked his day job in, not seen at Wingate since the game and gone back up north. Scared to give evidence. Nice.

I saw every single punch those thugs made against whom you imply is a coward, but did nothing to deserve it. This is from a neutral who knows the 'victim' as a founder of non league day. He's a massive loss to NL in London. Meanwhile the Maclarens will have to reside in their caravans until their bans are up.

Anonymous now is it? A hat trick of wind up posts. Why don't you do a fucking runner.

Not a nice reply from someone who may well not be a very nice person. Did you read the FA papers?

If I'd have started trouble (by picking on a woman so I hear, classy geezer!) and then taken a well deserved slap then I'd have been too ashamed to turn up the following week as well!!

This is embarrassing.
To call someone who's been beaten up a coward and accusing him of doing a runner? I had to check I wasn't on the forum of a Connie South club not a million miles we from us where a section of support seem to see giving someone a slap as part and parcel of a boozy awayday.
For what its worth, I've met Mike Bayly and found him to be a very decent, down to earth bloke. His help and guidance was invaluable in working out where and when to promote the Pay What You Want event.
Equally, there is a section of Wingate supporters whose behaviour that afternoon was pathetic. Some of the invective from behind the goal in the first half (I was on the tannoy) might have made Paul blush. Simon's yellow and red card would have been in overdrive. At the League Cup game one of their fans felt no shame in using a homophobic term towards one of our players - this was flagged up to the Wingate board post game and subsequently dealt with.
I cannot comment on the incident inside the bar because I wasn't there. What I can comment on is the mental and psychological effect 'getting a slap' can have on someone and no-one, absolutely no-one, can ever be justified in describing them as cowards.

I will try very hard not to comment until the appeal is heard - but it will be very difficult.

I have to say I support the Club 100 percent on this. I don't think the report should have been released until the appeal had been heard – at least the first appeal. Having been involved with a number of leagues, I know most, if not all, do not issue the results of a disciplinary hearing until any first appeal has been heard.
I am desperate to add my five guineas’ worth to the Forum, but will not do so until the appropriate time.
