Hi guys
Skelmersdale United fan here,
Im compiling information regards the 1967 Amateur Cup and Skem Utds appearance at Wembley
We had three mammoth games against you in the Semi Final, I was there but was very young and remember nothing. Although a few of our supporters reckon that the clubs greatest achievement was the victory over yourselves.

I was wondering if any of your....older supporters.... went to these games and had any memories and stories to tell
to be included in a book.

I have seen mentions of Coopers magnificent goal in the second game on this forum
So if anyone can add details, memories of the games would be delighted to hear your stories

You can email me at

kevpanther@btinternet.com

Much appreciated

I've passed on copies of the match reports. For anybody else out-there I have most the reports from 1908-1980.Currently processing data on away sides and player bio's. With a chunk not in existence around the 1990's I should hopefully complete the task next season.
Knowing several supporters have made the same trip to Hendon Library, they now have no printing facility but copies can be made with the use of a camera. There is a fee of £5 for every session irrespective of duration.
I've had to purchase a bookcase to accommodate the stuff - I really do believe that this could be the last time anybody will collate the history of the club in this fashion and consequently maintain this ultimately belongs with the club for future generations.
I would be prepared to hand it over in due course on the presumption that it would be protected and not just emptied into a skip at some point - but that's another cup of coffee.
Enjoy the presentation evening.

I managed to get to all 3 games and have emailed my recollections to Kev. He has replied, seems like a top bloke and true non league fan.
