Not pretty...

...but it didn't need to be. Thought we were good value for the 3 points today after a difficult first quarter of an hour or so. Slowly grew into the game though, and the goals either side of half time were expertly taken.
I thought the niggle that crept into the game before the break would play into our hands, alas, not with Leo's dismissal. That said, you'd have been hard pushed to have noticed that we were a an down for the vast majority of the second half. Apart from a long range effort that Ben took above his head, I cannot recall a shot on anger, never mind on target fashioned by the visitors.
Given that Leatherhead's form up until today was something like 1 defeat in 11, this is another stern test passed with flying colours.
Well done all!
Onto Monday.

Not pretty sums it up well, but it's all about getting results come the business end of the season.
The work rate, especially when we went a man down, was excellent, as for all their possession, Leatherhead didn't creste many chances.
Three more pounts banked.
Keep the good work up, boys!!

Agree with all of that. A game of very few chances but two high quality goals. Aaron Morgan hung onto the ball too long in the 1st half and got caught a few times but what a header and what a ball with the outside of his foot for Casey's goal!! Full marks to Casey too for the deft control and calm finish. My MoM was Sam Murphy....think that's the best I've seen him play. He walked the 2nd yellow tightrope a bit but his skill and work rate were of the highest order.
A real shame about Leo. I think everyone could see what was going to happen after he nearly got a second yellow 5 mins before the inevitable. Does he miss the Maidstone game?

Not sure yet how many games Leo will miss but his suspension will not start until the Dulwich match.

Personal highlight for me - the delivery from the corner on the first goal. That cross had a goal written all over it.
That was real quality. With Ollie taking corners on the other side you get quality in the box like that what a threat.
When goals maybe difficult to come by in open play what an asset.
I agree on Sam, I also like Andre - huge potential. I love a roaming number 10, - some credit to their number 10, I thought he was the best player out there. Can't say I was impressed by his discipline.
Difficult bank holiday fixtures - I think the midfield is the key, especially in a defensive capacity.
Thanks to Doug I obtained a programme from the other night and my first sight of the plans for the development of SJP. Must say on paper, the amount of refurbishment is far greater that what I had expected.
The transformation off the field is as enticing as the achievements on it.

During our recent hectic run of games, one of the features has been the huge threat we pose from corners. The delivery has been excellent as has the movement of the players. Saturday's execution was perfect and it looked as though Aaron actually out jumped Dave for the header! (could have been my eyes though....!)

I originally thought, sat in the main stand that it was Dave who scored. He was leaping just behind Aaron.
The delivery from corners, and set pieces in general has been excellent in recent weeks. With pitches not really conducive to creating much from open play, finally getting balls 'into the mixer' at set pieces rather than playing them short has paid huge dividends.
