Interesting cluster of teams below taking points off eachother - bodes for an interesting second half to the campaign.
VCD match correspondent stated our pitch was on Saturday akin to a pudding so no real surprise our fluency may have been off. The characteristics may have been more suited to the opponents. Draw your own conclusions. Can't help thinking this maybe a factor in the Xmas derby games.
Tonight. evidently more engaging, two sides of whom both like to play - the outcome more subjective. The result reminds me of the 1-0 win at Concord a couple of years back, (I think)!
Maidstone unbeaten at home - all sounds very familiar in the next month or so.
The onus is on ourselves, in what will be a very difficult month including a trip to Donkey Lane.
Looking at our team line-up tonight I am still wondering what the exact positions of the personnel was - although in truth I can probably like most guess with a reasonable degree of accuracy, especially with the absence of Kevin Mac.
I've gone with a whimisical 3 centre-half approach in my head since our cup-exit - but since dismissed it - but I can't help thinking against certain teams it could be worth a try.
My head's on it's usual post-match trip!
If it ain't broken why change it?
That is one very satisfactory nights work - the personification of a very healthy work ethic.
Very happy supporter!

Would be glad to hear from anyone who made the game. I tried. Got as far as Ipswich, then accident on A12 so had to turn back. If I left 3 mins earlier I'd have missed it. Grrrrr!!!

It took me 3 hours from Watford but managed to get there and watch a close but deserved win. Elliott and Charlie were the central defensive pairing with MoM (for me) Fish playing in a defensive midfield role.

A good, end-to-end game - we defended a lot of crosses throughout the game and tended to hit them a little bit on the break. We had a second goal disallowed for offside - I was on the halfway line but it looked a close call to me.

Lots of hard work and no lack of skill on display from the Greens against a Leiston side who are very hard to beat at home.

And so to Maidstone .....
