A good cup tie

This was always going to be an accident waiting to happen. Missing key players and then losing leading scorer after 10 minutes could have been disastrous. Full credit to the guys to keep plugging away against R&D's mass defence. Leon, as always, gave everything and his goal was a just reward for his persistence. Praise too to R&D for their great efforts and to their terrific supporters. Best of luck to them for the season.

I think we all knew this was going to be a much tougher affair than Biggleswade last season and so it was. Really did well to get the game won against a side that was tough to break down.

Rushden will do very well this season, and I'll be surprised if they aren't at step 4 next season.

Really good cup atmosphere - I can't remember the last time there was atmosphere in the ground half an hour before kick off. Great to have the youth teams around with their parents and managers - and the Rushden fans were big contributors to the atmosphere as well.

A really enjoyable day.

Despite the pre match drama regarding Radio Diamonds and traffic chaos getting down the M1 is was a good day and a very entertaining match. The Press section allowed us to view the match without obstructions, which is something we regularly have to put up with. A great atmosphere, especially from the "little green demons" in front of us. if you can harness their enthusiasm then the future for your club may not be so bad.

Do hope you can continue your Cup run and get some much needed cash, and good luck in the League. See you again in a couple of years.
