We did the most important thing last night - win. It may not have been the greatest performance in terms of style and quality, but the job was done, and we were back to our usual solid selves at the back.

Biggest plus point for me was seeing Elliot Brathwaite back in league action - thought he had an excellent game (not that anyone had a bad one).

I think we'll all be making sure there's 4 corner flags tomorrow before the game - rather than the 3 we started with last night! That was probably the furthest I've run in a few years! (For those not there, when the referee realised that there was a corner flag missing, having initally thought his assistant was winding him up, I ran from the far end, to the tunnel, was given the flag and then ran back up the touchline to put the flag into the corner at the far end.) At least that gave everyone some entertainment at my expense :)

I understand Steve is joining Gary's team as an additional fitness coach after his very impressive sprint last night.

As good as Steve's performance was, I feel he was beaten for man of the match by Jose Figura. Did some great runs and his confidence grew as the game progressed. Look forward to seeing lots more from this kid.

When I read the post on the Facebook about you running up and down the touchline I had assumed there was an injured official and you'd been stand-in linesman!
