First and foremost, well played to the lads for the result last night. I do like the LSC and hopefully, we can push on and close the season with some silverware a reward for the lad's commitment alone. I spent Saturday, whilst the lads were in Somerset to trawl through all our highlights this season. On a sour note, I do think we have gone off the boil this calendar year. I've been primarily concerned with the goals we're conceding from around our own six-yard box, not dealing with headers. Interested to see how we play on Saturday, built on the back of last night.
If there is one side that fascinates me in this division it's Salisbury. I find them in a permanent catch-22. Three for four at the back, usually changes anyway. The circumstances when it does - all quite confusing. I don't know whether Steve Claridge goes in formation wise with a pre-determined plan for the opposition or whether his focus is trying to do the best with what he's got. They themselves have been all over the place in 2022 and beset by injuries. I think similar accusations can be made about both sides in certain regards - a bit Man Utd in terms of deliverance. Equally, up top, I have expected more punch out of the front line. Was last night akin to the Met game at home. A style of flow that brought the best out of us - do we revert to the mean. I still think we can mix and match and go long into Joe, holding the ball up. Ironically, I make the accusation that in poorer performances at times we've had the tendancy to overplay that particular card. The loss of Tommy Brewer and his vision has been key.
Plenty of thoughts going into Saturday - on last night very well done!
