Cracking point on the road last night!

Unbeaten in 10 at home going in, I expected nothing else other than an onslaught. I expected them to pile on the pressure. The way they maneuver the ball is damn effective. I expected changes of wide play and balls through the channels. I expected frankly to get turned over. I'm being honest. That makes the outcome even more damn impressive.
It says a lot about our performance. The mental strength and collective display must have been equally admirable.
A real galvanizing result. I do think Yate in comparison went into the Covid break with a settled style. When I went there, I thought they had a foundation. This season they have utilised a smallish squad, a bit more mature in age than most sides in this division whom comprise mainly youthful players with one or two more experienced key components. On that premise, it will be interesting, should both teams meet again next season, how they shape up.
I would like to have been there. I had train tickets for the original fixture - problems with the Met on Saturday - the trains look out of action!
I thought the lads passed a real test of our mettle last night. I still maintain we need to get dominant at home.
Despite the odd bump in the road. Things are looking promising.
Well done.
