I thought today was quite revealing. I have personally thought over the course of the past couple of months we have had a requirement to improve our overall game in most aspects. Having gone on about free-kicks, in the past couple of games I have touched on goal-kicks. Ironically, I thought the first 45 today was bossed by which-ever side won goal-kicks or second phase.
My overall consideration, and maybe, the opposition helped, was how we visually looked. We looked pleasing on the eye with regards to playing a more traditionally based passing game. I think there is a whole manifestation contained within that one. I think Jayden is coming on leaps and bounds. I think the lad is gaining awareness and stature. I think he takes his foot off the gas occasionally - an exciting prospect.
Shout out to the Irish lad. I think at right-back today, the lad Mo! He reminds in part of a Joe! Mr Howe Esq. I think he's a tad old skool. I like how he gets forward. See, if chosen, how he shapes up against some tougher perceived opponents. Liam, back-tracking down the flanks.
In keeping with lots of personal, irritating niggles, I thought today there were clear signs of things worked on by the management. Credit all-round.
Very encouraging.
