I think we are almost good to go - at least in principle. I know some fans are concerned with regards to goals conceded. I am more optimistic. A night of standout performances for me last night. First up, the lad at 4. Instigated the play surrounding the second goal. Reminded me of the lad we had from Hampton not so long back. Should have a promising future. I want to touch on Joe White, (exceptional shift), and his interaction with the distribution from the GK. Reminds me of how Connor Calcutt tracked back in an attempt to win ariel battles. I thought with regards to Connor, I always thought it was almost detrimental. How successful Joe is in holding things up in general remains to be seen, we should win our fair share of the second balls, irrespective of attention from the CH behind. But I would advocate that the real positive for me was our distribution from the backs. One solitary stray long pass from Tommy Smith, the rest were really on the money. I do think we can play out from the back more. Tailor-made for the likes of Tommy and Corks. Our delivery in the box was exceptional.
The lad Lucas Perry, whom in a personal medicated state of mind, I kept referring to as 'Forbes' half the night, and was by definition a joy to watch. Gliding around effortlessly, reading the game deciding when to go forward. A final mention for Jayden, an impressive display. A type of lad of whom can be deployed to his fullest when the game is calling out for circumstances prevailing.
I expect us to be up there at the business end come the end of the season. A final mention to Gary and his staff. We'll all be keeping tabs on his campaign as well.
