I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to this fundraiser.
It's been brilliant for me over the past 4 weeks or so, putting it all together, sorting out orders and tickets, it's given me something to focus on. I couldn't have done it though without the help of the Supporters Association - in particular Sandra, Graham, Paul and Marina - who made it so easy for orders to be placed and processed, and to take the money in, nor without the investment of time and artistry of Nigel Kyte and David Ballheimer with the programme.
And the whole afternoon would have been a damp squib without everyone that contributed. Many people who didn't watch the game put money into the 50/50 or Golden Goal, or they purchased a player sponsorship. I said in the broadcast before the game that I'd have been delighted with anything over £1k when this all kicked off. To come in at over £2,300 is way beyond what I'd hoped for. So thank you to everyone who donated.
My biggest fears ahead of the game were twofold. Firstly whether the quality of the stream would hold up - I think it did for the most part - and secondly, an hour before kick-off David Hogwood suddenly went missing from the Legends Squad. I searched high and low, went into the data editor three times only to see him sat there but nowhere to be seen in the game. It was only then I realised that he was hiding in the Under-23 squad.
I've had some lovely comments since this afternoon, thank you so much. This has been a real labour of love for me, I've enjoyed every second of it.
Let's hope we can get back to the real SJP before too long. Stay safe and well everyone.
