Initial thoughts - The lad at 11, Son of Shaq/Apprentice Shaq. Similar gait - Spooky! Amusement aside, it does underpin my thoughts that these lads are really all individually at different stages of their development. First game, as with many oppositions, they probed and found what was a trait last season. Irrespective of experimental team selections, the apparent exposure down the flanks will need attention. Their best passages of play all emminated around the same areas. Plenty of time to evaluate. In terms of progression, I like the lad Charlie Smith. I think he has unrealsed potential, similair traits to Chaps. I have one or two issues. I think his distribution can be enhanced. I can see him potentially linking up well. Short-passing with the midfield, maintaining possession and building, rather than going with longer, often mis-directed passing would be really beneficial. Watching Luke with interest. I think this season he matures. First home game last season, a fantastic header v Walton. More of the same. I was actually impressed with W&F lad, name, I believe Ruff? Reminded me of varient of Keagan Cole. The forwards, hard to tell, without a functional set-up - time will tell. Plenty of encouraging signs and plenty of work to do. Would imagine the management already are several steps ahead in their plans to get us up and running. Finally, great to see David B back on his feet and in fine form. Plenty to ponder.
