Interesting stuff - the continual un-certaintly surrounding our league placement is overriding my thoughts. I have a theory that sides in this division fall broadly into one of two catagories. The peripheral located sides, strong physically, versus the diminutive, combatative style. Under that assumption, I don't know how we fit in as yet. I find the Slough method a reasonable template, but I'm drawn down the alternative style. I suppose the players will resolve that. How much a 'philosophy' the manager has with regards to any preference needs time to determine. I think, in all honesty, we have some work to do. I still have questions with regards the formation being defined. We have some pretty individualistic talents.
One thing struck me with James. I think he is a smart cookie with an eye for a player. Where he can cast his net and what he can build over the next couple of campaigns is interesting. He has the proverbial blank slate. Even in the side he commenced with, assembled in panic mode, there was an eclectic aspect to his recruitment.
I want to see what this lad achieve over time. I think he's a good prospect.
