Points victory on the day to Tonbridge. Underlying all things considered, unfinished business.
I have never seen a game so influenced by one characteristic. Goal-kicking. I have a niggle with our retention following a goal-kick. Their keeper, top lad, every kick resulted in possession and effective passage of play. Us 50/50 we give back the emphasis even when dominant. The emphasis swings despite being dominant. Overall performance brilliant. Left and Right backs utilised in enhancing balls into the box. We watch everyone else do the basics and incorporate logic.
Newbies look promising. Arthur Lee was utterly outstanding - and Murphs stemming the incoming flack - doubt they will be harder pressed all season. Commendable stuff. I thought their C/H was the difference - he matched ours for something special and denied us our chance.
Fair play to the Tonbridge set up. They have a bit of quality - a very good manager - we have to compensate in other qualities. There's not a lot to separate those protaganists - let's hope we can maintain our duel.
This underdog has some bite.
