Torn ankle ligaments is a nasty injury, but given some of the things that went through my mind as crashed to the ground on Monday night, that is a very good diagnosis. I have spoken to about half a dozen people in the past six weeks who have ruptured their achilles tendon (including two ex-Hendon people at Carshalton, Curtis Warmington and Paul Scott), and I feared that might be Schmikes's fate too.
