Billericay win.

Many Billericay supporters departed wondering how on earth Hendon hadn't won by 5 or 6 goals. Yet, but for an audacious bit of luck in Hendon's favour, the match would have finished all square.

It was that type of match. The first half was relatively uneventful. Hendon goal first minute, missed chance last minute, much huffing and puffing from Billericay to no avail in between.

2nd half, Hendon had the Billericay defence on the back foot almost all the time, just failing to convert chance after chance, but running and harrying superbly, making full use of the muddy quarter of the pitch, which the more ponderous Billericay defenders hated. However, Billericay did hit hit the underside of the bar mid-way through the half in a fine move, then with the very last kick of the game, one of their subs hit the inside of the far post the ball luckily flying back across goal into Fitzsimons arms. Phew!
