Such a shame the lad's just could not see the game out. On reflection, a real decent point on the road. My first impresssion on the day - the teamsheet. Arguably the first time in living memory most connected could have realistically chosen the starting XI. Things look more settled - I think the whole league looks definable.
Shots from outside the box and crosses inward remain defensively carried over concerns from pre-season. I would imagine there were also plenty of all-round pretty solid performances.
I think the next two home games are huge. A real chance to put down a marker in terms of what to expect at SJP. I've spouted enough derby day nonsense over the years on here - So here's some more!
Last 32 derby games vs Met/HB, 14 wins, 14 losses. Verses the Met over the past 4 seasons, each team has subsequently achieved the double twice. The outcomes do correlate to the overall success of the season.
Last season, including Chesham, - 6 derby games 1 point out of 18! We fell short of the play-offs by, you guessed it 18 points! A bit of a stretch perhaps, but I maintain it highlights the premise. The gap can be closed. Big games.
Love the fact Luke has registed again early. Similar patterns already. This year, I do genuinely believe we can push on. At face value, a pretty decent start, something from which to build.
Looking forward to Tuesday night.
