No different to the old days at Claremont for County Cup ties, especially during shit patches of form. Being forced to charge full price for these games is an absolute farce, bearing in mind that Football League clubs charge £10-15 for early round league cup ties and £5 for the Checkatrade Trophy.

In addition to the pricing issue (which I wholeheartedly agree with), it was a damp night, there was international football within sight of SJP (also shown on the telly) and the associated traffic chaos.
On the traffic point, it is worth noting that four Northwood players didn't arrive at SJP until about 7.20pm because of traffic.
Whilst perhaps slightly disappointing on this one occasion - these games rarely hit treble figures (the 100 plus gate for the Wembley game was bewildering!) - even quarter or semi finals barely seem to whet the appetite.
However, since the move to SJP, crowds are generally up. They might not be back to Claremont Road levels, but they are consistently better than Earlsmead gates. If we can shift out of this rotten period of form then hopefully we can continue to grow them this season and beyond.

I would have thought that the prospect of enduring an England international on TV, would have driven more to SJP!
The possibility of facing Harrow Boro or our Ruislip friends (or optimistically both) in later rounds is an appealing one, Fingers crossed,

Attendances have been very much better this season at SJP. This was clearly hoped for and proved to be correct. The atmosphere at home Saturday games has been great. Unbeaten since the opening day I believe.
Unfortunately cup fixture clashes with virtually all our scheduled home Saturday league games has meant that a home league game on a Saturday has become a very rare event. I acknowledge that this has been due largely to our great FA Cup run, but it does pose questions. If FA Cup ties were all played midweek clubs would have a stable level of income from home Saturday league games, rather than constantly having the risk of having to split proceeds from cup ties. Midweek league games inevitably attract lower attendances than Saturday games.
Hendon have been dealt a raw deal in my opinion due to FA competion dates clashing with home league games.

£15k in prize money should more than compensate for the difference though. The FA Cup is the pinnacle of the season, no way it should be shunted to midweek.

I agree with you, Paul. It is of course far better to have the Cup run and prize money, than none at all, and midweek cup ties in turn could involve awkward journeys and produce less gate money. My posting was really a reflection on the bizarre fact that here we are in late November and there has only been one home Saturday league game since the opening day of the season.

Isn't about time we all gave ourselves a pat on the back! From the depths of despair of having no home and a bleak future we find ourselves with a ground we can call home. A manager with a true passion and desire to succeed and a board who continually dip into their pockets to keep the club afloat.
Phase 1 has been completed now a 5 year plan to achieve National South status should be put in place . The perfect message to supporters, management and players that will take us on to the next level.
Our club has huge history and tradition and with out community hub can thrive into a force to be admired.
Gary and Simon with the total support of all fans can take Hendon to a special place for decades to come.
Our result against Leiston didn't surprise me after seeing how much the board and management work and care for the club.
