The lad deserves a huge amount of credit (as does Mark the physio) for the way he has battled back from serious injury to turn in two superb performances...in three days!!!
The quality he has shown in this week's games, shows what we have been missing. Excellent positional sense, aerial ability, combined with an old fashioned attitude to doing the simple things.
If it were me, given the nature of his injury, I'd think about resting him for the Bognor game but I think he will probably start. But I wouldn't think twice about picking him for the Cup Final. For me, he's got to play!
Lastly, a word on last night's game at Burgess Hill. It was by no means a classic on a typically bumpy pitch but it was a hard fought scrap in which every member of the team was fully committed. Joe's handling set the tone and this was followed (especially in the last 15 minutes) by countless winning headers and tackles by our back four and screening midfielders. Stand outs for me were the back four.....all of whom were superb in the second half but a special mention must go to Maz Bettache. Not everything he tried came off but he kept at it and produced the one moment of quality to win the match. It shouldn't be forgotten that he's another player who is working his way back from serious injury.
Well done to everyone on and off the pitch for securing our status in the Premier Division and those who make the trip to Bognor on Staurday can do so with settled nerves.

Our first clean sheet away in the league since - wait for it - AUGUST (Needham Market)!
Obviously a huge fan of Seebs, I wish him well going forward. Does the implementation of one player really make that much difference? I believe it can wholesale. Sitting at home Monday night just taking on board the line-up can immediately install increased confidence. It sums up this entire campaign that we have had to wait to the final week to feel the kind of quiet optimism you would actually associate with August at the start of a season.
Via a recent text I believe Kevin Mac is back for August, that will change the whole dynamic of the midfield.
It's all coming together with next season effectively already being set-up. Inconsistent runs are often offset by the implementation of new faces - we've had ours, we've just been unable to get at them.
We've dropped so many points to mediocre sides, come this August, this supporter wants some vengence.
Oh and the type of visual displays on our new surface which really demonstrate our squads real underlying abilities. The management, players and supporters deserve it.

Well done guys for avoiding a bottom four place. I'm one of those old fashioned dinosaurs who does not believe that staying up because of another club's demotion is all that matters. To me pride matters and we can therefore continue in the Premier Division on merit.

What was noticeable on Monday evening was that we suddenly had another outlet in the attacking half with an overlapping full-back down the right flank as well as the left in Olly. By and large, for the last 15 months or so since his injury, we've been putting square pegs in the round right-full back hole (with the fleeting exception of Omar Vassell) and I think it's shown both defensively and in an attacking sense.
I couldn't be there last night after planning to be, but I was thrilled to read updates on Twitter - it sounds like a really resilient and hard-working performance.
To finish outside the bottom four is a relief and now we can look forward to the cup final in a couple of weeks without worrying about anything - then the summer gives the gaffer an opportunity to take stock and start again.
There have been little green shoots of encouragement since that desperate run in the autumn where we couldn't buy a win or a goal - the biggest for me has been the return of Carl McCluskey. The threat he provides us from set-pieces, the number of goals he's contributed in half a season from midfield has been essential. I also think that Maz could really flourish next season - his performances since returning from injury have been really bright and encouraging. If he can find a consistent final ball, he will be a real asset next term.
Well done to all last night, and for staving off the drop in what has been one of the most testing seasons on the pitch in my 20-odd years of watching the club.

My first game in a while , was a bit worried with the amount of possession we allowed them and that they spent a lot of time in our half . having said that they had few chances and I guess that was due to a well organised defence and midfield . Seebs didn't look as though he had been away very good to see .
There a about 4 mins of the game on the Hillonians - Burgess Hill Town FC TV site on you tube .
Still not sure how the ball got in the net , personally I would give it to Maz.
305 attendance , BHTFC are not from the Chelmsford City school of accountancy clearly !!!

Are you suggesting the attendance was generous on a Dulwich car park counting scale Eddie??
Was working last night and jumped up when I saw the result, I've been vociferous in saying avoid the bottom 4 and I'm very pleased we've managed to do that.

Suffice it to say that Eddie and John Rock both, but independently, came up with an estimate of 180 for the attendance. I then showed them that Football Web Pages was reporting a crowd of 305.
I suggested that perhaps Burgess Hill had attended the Purfleet-Thurrock school of attendance counting.
To be fair, none of the three of us went along the 'popular' side where the covered standing was, so there may well have been more people there than we thought.

Your reference to Purfleet/Thurrock made me chuckle....their published attendance figures were a work of fiction and never bore any resemblance to how many were in the ground.

There is every chance that the attendance figure includes things like season tickets of people who weren't at the game. By buying a season ticket they people have bought a ticket for the game.
I don't know if that is the case, but I find pontification over crowds pretty uninteresting - particularly when we should be focusing on trying to increase our own gates. To be perfectly honest, there have been occasions where we've had gates over 100 announced and there hasn't been that number of people inside the ground.
