Via the Enfield home site. Other Semi is on. Great, as things stand we now get punished!!
Unless we recieve a bye to the final - our opponents get more recovery time.
Not entirely happy to say the least.

What a Goon Show

We will end up being penalised twice - first losing a league game to a team with a player who should not have been on the pitch....and secondly likely having to play our semi with less recovery time than our opponents should we win. Still can't plan any possible trip up from Dorset. And how do Enfield get to hear about it before anyone else? This is beginning to stink the place out! !

Yup, an utterly ludicrous decision - particularly when set alongside the fact that with appeals and the like there's no guarantee that our playoff could even go ahead after Thursday's hearing. Up till now I had some sympathy with the league being put in this situation through no fault of their own, but they've just made an utter hash of their first significant decision.

Should we not get promotion it could be that another trip to Shithole-on-Sea (AKA Peacehaven) is on the cards as they may get a reprieve. Could anyone throw any light on this?

Unlikely I think. The theory was that only three would go down due to the vacancy in Conference South this season (they relegate one less to our level, we relegate one less and so on), but when a vacancy is known about before the end of the season the reprieve usually goes to the side with the best points average, which would be Marine up in the Northern Premier League.

Prospective timeline question?

Sheer speculation and just for thought processes I am rather curious as to how things work behind the scenes.
With regards to what is now going to be almost certainly a revised timetable. Do Hendon as a club have any consultation with regards to the re-scheduling of matches or is the over-riding consideration automatically imposed from above?
Which entities would have to agree with regards to any re-scheduling of the London Senior Cup Final or is that set in stone? I'm not sure I like the notion of risking players in the London Senior Cup, sandwiched in-between prospective play-off encounters. In order for any proposed change to the London Senior Cup date to be implemented I presume equal consideration has to be given to our opponents. Of course, the difficulty is pushing out further the London Senior Cup based an a Play-off final which may not take place!
We would be pushing June! Wealdstone have today released a PSF date for late July - not much of a pre-season sabbatical. My best guesstimate is that the revised Semi and proposed Final maybe earmarked for subsequent Saturday's, or the Semi next mid-week followed by the final.
I'm just curious has to whom calls the shots.

I'm not sure we know the answer to any of this. We'll continue to voice our opinions where we feel it is appropriate to do so and we'll carrying on doing whatever we can to ensure that we are not disadvantaged by what's going on but only time will tell as to the extent to which the League and/or the FA take our views into account.

Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure if, for example, us (Margate) playing the final with more rest time would actually be an advantage. There could be no better motivation for the winners of the Hendon/Enfield/Met Police tie than some perceived injustice.

In any case, can anyone tell me why were Enfield charged on March 25 but only found guilty last week? What has been happening for the last month?

We are very disappointed that the decision to play the other play off semi final before ours has given little thought to players and supporters alike. Hendon FC have acted in a dignified way since the news regarding Enfield FC broke. Gary and the players have achieved an incredible amount this season and deserve equality in the play offs. I believe the Isthmain League believe the same.

On the plus side.....any postponement gives Kevin, Sam, Taggs etc some extra time to recover from their injuries.

On the minus side....this fannying around by the authorities is detracting from the football.

More on the prospective timeline bit - an Enfield mate of mine has said that they intend to appeal and take it all the way to the court of arbitration if necessary.

Could we be looking at June, July, even August to sort this out?

Cancel the playoffs and promote 2nd place!!!

I was just thinking that if they play the play-offs and final as pre-season games, how will that look and what prep time would the winners of the play-off finals have for the new season.........then again how would the conference south fixture list look like if nothing is sorted by August????

I'd say the drop dead date is the Ryman or Conference AGM, whichever comes first. Unfortunately fitting in fixtures before those dates could be problematic as players and staff are inevitably going to start being on holiday from around the 10th May onwards.

Some players' contracts will also have ended, so another obstacle for the clubs to deal with.
