Margate Last Night

Excellent semi-final last night between two decent sides. Margate were competitive with ex-Charlton defender Jamie Stuart at the back but Hendon were the sharper team, especially early on. The delivery of our corners last night was superb, as were our centre-backs attacking them. In the end, the victory was thoroughly deserved and it's another game where Leon Smith will be wondering what he had to do to score. The Margate keeper ("Zlatan") was brilliant....and a good laugh to boot. Well played lads....very much looking forward to the final.

Agreed fully - good cup tie between two decent sides played in the right spirit. Did begin to wonder when Elliott's first goal was chalked off and we didn't get a decision in the first half an hour or so of the second period whether we were to be denied, but, barring the first 15 minutes or so of the second half when Margate put us under a lot of pressure, I thought we looked the more likely throughout to win the tie.

Still a long way to go this season, but a cup final to look forward to is fitting reward for the combined efforts of the players, coaching staff and board.

Well done all.

Reading in-between the lines of constant updates via the twitter-verse I distinctly felt that last night was a continuation from the positives exhibited at Hampton.
I think the lads have ratcheted up their performances a couple of notches of late, particularly with regards attacking intensity. There's a more vibrant look. Maintaining such levels will be difficult given our schedule, but it displays encouraging signals.particularly when other sides are feeling the pace.
Congratulations to management and players on a well-earned achievement.
