Canvey Updates

Thank you to the Canvey affiliate of whom posted what amounted to a virtual blow-by-blow account of tonight's game.
Furthermore what a result. Great response from the lads - Canvey will always create chances and can stretch you all over the park. Sounds like Taggs and Seebs were out-standing.
Not getting carried away, but the lads have set a benchmark, the potential is clearly present to produce performances of this ilk.
Onto Norbiton, another stiff examination of our credentials.
Excellent stuff.

We pretty well bossed the game from start to finish. Casey took his brother's role in midfield and Fisher returned alongside Brathwaite and it didn't disrupt us from the last time I saw us against Harrow.

Kezie took his goal superbly after Seeby, with his most commanding performance of the season so far for me, had done really well cutting in from the right hand side. After that, it was pretty well a catalogue of missed chance after missed chance.

We were helped by the Canvey number 11 getting him sent off for pulling back Kezie just as he was about to pull the trigger inside the box. The less said about the actual penalty itself, the better. Lack. Of. Conviction.

Although Canvey threatened sporadically from set-pieces and range, we had enough opportunities to have won tonights and Saturdays games at a canter.

Largely very good, but the lack of killer instinct in front of goal is a concern. 10 goals scored in 8 matches - with a clinical finish we would be looking at double that tally.

For the record, Anthony Thomas played a central midfield role for Canvey tonight and did little to suggest that we're missing out on much.

Not just a lack of clinical finishing, but is that now SIX league penalties in a row we've failed to score? Worrying stat.
