Agree with all the above - Michael indeed was vibrant. Good work-man-like effort, this time of year, back to back games - boggy surfaces. Job well done. Conditions dictating graft over finese. Horses for courses debate on midfield selections with a view to Enfield and plastic.
~ Brings me onto my choice for the day - Kevin Mac.
Pre-match talk of post Cray, Kevin Mac and how he had the personal fortitude to stop and pick-up, (presumably at no cost!!), a collective of 'old timers' and despatch them to the nearest train station.
Nice touch.
On the way home,I read in the programme one David Ballheimer's recollections of former Hendon great Roy Butler carriing out similar actions to an away game at Barking - ironic timing.
The lad also, maybe co-incientally,posted the snapshot of the lads showing their admiration towards Ted Peck at Wingate.
Irrespective, and for personal disclosure - I voted for the lad last season for player of the year - he's matured on the field and has led by example.
I maintain it's important for the supporters to appreciate and acknowledge the efforts undertaken in all positive respects - it earns validation when you rollock them!
Roy Butler was before my time - but I envisage correlation to our present day skipper.
The lad's a work-horse. Respect is due.
