Phil Collins - Part 2

Back to the Southern, a period when on this very board, I made everybody board, with my comparisons with Sailsbury and Man Utd. Harry McGuire was a constant. Both Hendon and Sailsbury around 17th. I envisaged a modern day Man Utd, Spurs comparison. Hendon, now being Spursy. One could clearly envisage either side with some comparative adjustment climbing the table on maybe the other languishing in "Land of Confusion".
As with Man Utd, after immense frustration, a turn-round in fortune is never far away. Sailsbury had Steve Claridge at the helm. Just got the boot at Weymouth this Christmas, again strange timing, after just 20 games in charge. Think re-construction, rather than de-construction. Claridge reminds me of Heston Blumenthal.
Onto the new blood. My view, basics. This is not a time for Heston bloody Blumenthal. Personally, I'm out-dated. I don't want philosophy, high fives with fans, music and exciting football narratives. I want a centre half who can jump and win a ruddy header. Somebody with their sleeves rolled up with an attitude of fixing problems and embracing a challenge - because managing this football club is a priviledge. And for the right candidate a fantastic opportunity to rebuild this clubs fortunes and make a name for yourself.
Get to work.
