Actually it's nearly 10 years ago that we played at Croydon Athletic in a Ryman League match - on 13th November 2010 to be exact. Their ground was the Keith Tuckey Stadium, Mayfield Road, Thornton Heath.
AFC Croydon Athletic is a reformation of the club, who resigned from the Isthmian League in 2011-2012 without playing a match that season, following the jailing of their chairman for involvement in the Pakistan cricket match-fixing scandal; apparantly he also admitted that he only bought Croydon Athletic for money laundering purposes. Croydon Athletic were locked out of their ground by the local council ovr unpaid debts, and the reformed club arranged a groundshare with Croydon FC at the Croydon Arena until some time in 2014.
AFC Croydon Athletic do play at the same ground, now known as the Mayfield Stadium, which was partially rebuilt following a fire in the clubhouse in 2013.
Comments I've seen elsewhere say that Balham's groundshare at AFC Croydon Athletic is from the start of the 2020/21 season, whenever that may be. As far as Balham FC is concerned, the new ground is much nearer the Balham area than the Wibbandune Ground by the Kingston By-Pass.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Rob! You can always hope that the London FA cancels the 2019/20 London Senior Cup, alternatively that the LSC still goes ahead but our quarter-final is switched to SJP!
