Thoughts already percolating - going off on a tangent here. One thing I like doing with new recruits is drawing comparisons with past successful denominations. Looked at the new lad and I was immediately drawn to a comparison with Leon Smith. Took it a stage further and thought about the contrast in styles between both our previous play-off sides. Completely different. Leon's campaign, 2014-15, saw him net 24 goals in 64 apps - his partner in crime, Kezie Ibe 28 in 62. The partnership strikeforce looks to be dominant. Maybe an Elliott Charles/Ngoyi option with a mobile youthful option. I'm already impressed, in just four weeks, with what's fallen into place. The role of the left/right backs becomes more involved. Seeby a standout that season. Trying
to get the workings of the Gaffers mind down on a bit of paper - I think we're going more back to the conventional tried and tested. Looking forward to it.
